Foster Carer Expenses Questionnaire

Behind the scenes we are always working on building programs to support our carers, and we want to understand the expenses you face day to day with being a foster carer for Rocky Roads Rescue.

“Expenses” means what you, as a foster carer, pay out of your own pocket in your volunteer role as a Foster Carer
for which you ARE NOT reimbursed for by the Rescue.

Your responses in this form are completely ANONYMOUS. We will not know whose answers are whose, and we don't need to know.
Building these support systems can only work if your responses in this questionnaire are honest and as accurate as possible.

Please complete this questionnaire based on the most expensive three month period you have faced when fostering.

Bottle Feeding Kittens - Consider items such as Wombaroo or Di-Vetelact - include costs of bottles, syringes and nipples

Symptomatic Care - How much have you spent on suppliements and syptomatic care? Items to combat constipation and vomiting. Examples of symptomatic care products include: NutriPet, Lysine, Prokolin, Chlorsig, etc

Fuel Costs - Please calculate and list the total kilometres you have travelled in your three month period. Consider the times you have driven to another Rocky Roads foster home for collections (including Ebony's). Vet trips - including pick up and drop off. Any form of Foster essential shopping trips.

Toll Costs - List the cost of tolls you have incurred for fostering travels.

Delivery Costs - If you shop online or retail stores and have incurred delivery/postage fees, please list those delivery fees you have paid

Any other expenses not covered in this form - Consider cleaning products, heating and cooling (if you weren't already using it), heat packs and cat carriers.*

Making Your Fostering Easier - What would make your life and time as a foster carer easier, quicker and less imposing on your personal and work life? Would you like for time sensitive purchases be reimbursed to your account? How else can we support your fostering?*

Vet Trips - What is the furthest you've had to travel - in kms for a vet trip. Have you ever had to take time off work to make any of your vet appointments? If yes, list the hours you've taken off work.

Vets Continued - Do you feel there are enough vets close to you? Are you given the choice of going to your closest and most convenient vet?

If a program was introduced to reimburse foster carers for some of their fostering expenses, would you accept that financial support?
